Sculpture at Stoberry Park - a glimpse

This year Stoberry Park, Wells, hosted an extensive series of sculptures in it’s beautiful setting. By all accounts this was a baton passed by Fresh Air Sculpture which was launched in 1992 by Lucy Abel Smith and her late husband David as a biennial exhibition celebrating contemporary art in the beautiful riverside setting of their garden at the Quenington Old Rectory near Cirencester. This came to an end and I understand Stoberry Park agreed to hold what may become an annual outdoor sculpture exhibition.

On this 2026 occasion more than 90 sculptures were displayed to great effect. Here is just a glimpse of some of these, with apologies to artists where I have only showed a portion of their work and used my own artistic freedom in their presentation. I also show features and views from this outstanding garden and setting.
